Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a certification program in computer networking developed by Cisco Systems, CCNA certification remains valid for three years, after that re-certification is required. After CCNA one can go for CCNP and CCIE certifications.

A CCNA certified persone can get the following positions :

• Network Engineer
• Onsite Technician/ Resident Engineer
• System Engineer Level 1

A CCNA certified persone is able to do the following :

• Installation and configuration of Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocol environments.
• Troubleshooting Operations at Level 1
• Improve security and network performance.

Candidates who pass the exam will receive a CCNA certificate from Cisco. This will put a weight on your resume.
